The Department of Dermatology at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for a full-time or part-time, tenure-track or non-tenure, open rank Professor of Dermatology specializing in Medical Dermatology and/or Dermatopathology. The Department sees approximately 28,000 visits at its main campus and is looking for a faculty member to complement our team of clinicians. A commitment to teaching, clinical excellence, and academic scholarship is essential. Duties include teaching residents and medical students, direct patient care, and participation in scholarly activities. The University of Virginia Department of Dermatology, founded in 1924, is the oldest dermatology department in the South. Its mission is to enrich the quality of human life by improving health, to produce excellent and compassionate care for our patients, to advance the field of dermatology, to seek medical and scientific knowledge, and to create an environment for the professional preparation of individuals dedicated to healthcare service in dermatology. Qualifications Qualified candidates must have an MD or DO and be ABMS board-certified or board-eligible in dermatology; a fellowship in dermatopathology is preferable. Must be eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Rank is dependent on qualifications, experience, scholarly achievement, clinical service, and research.
