Sourcing Specialist, Research, Procure to Pay – Boston University
Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr
Location: BOSTON, United States
Responsibilities
Execute an annual category plan for assigned indirect spend commodities within the Procure to Pay (P2P) team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, manage, and execute category plan initiatives to deliver best total value, including managing competitive bid events and negotiating terms.
Build and manage internal business relationships by providing guidance on sourcing best practices, supplier selection, negotiation strategies, and contracting.
Support communication and change management for executed projects; develop and manage a supplier performance program within the Research spend categories.
Develop an understanding of spending by sub-category, supplier, unit, and geography; create demand management plans and identify savings opportunities.
Required Skills
B.A./B.S. in business, finance, accounting, management, nonprofit administration, or public administration.
3+ years of experience with proficiency in:
Public speaking, written and interpersonal communication
Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Leadership with vision and the ability to motivate others
Professionalism, good judgment, and integrity
Attention to detail and quality of work
Collaborative work in a small, collegial team environment
Self-motivation and intellectual curiosity
Preferred Skills
Experience in a Sourcing & Procurement function with exposure to an eProcurement system (e.g., SAP Ariba).
