Overview
Hematology/Oncology Physician - UVA Health Locations: Culpeper, Gainesville, Haymarket & Manassas, VA UVA Health is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to join our expanding UVA Community Health Cancer Service Line in Northern Virginia. Based primarily at UVA Culpeper Medical Center and UVA Gainesville Cancer Center, this position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality hematology and oncology care across multiple community locations, supported by the strength of the University of Virginia's academic medical center. This is a growth position designed to meet the increasing demand for advanced cancer care in Northern Virginia. Practice Highlights
Practice Setting: Outpatient, hospital-based, single-specialty group Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (flexible 4-day workweek available) Call: 1:6, providing nightly and weekend cross-coverage for UVA Culpeper, Prince William, and Haymarket Medical Centers Clinical Volume: 15–20 clinic patients per day; average annual wRVUs ~5,500 Case Mix: 50% oncology / 50% hematology Hospital Census: Average 0–2 patients daily when rounding Procedures: Bone marrow biopsies (approximately 20 per year) Virtual Health: Telemedicine and virtual consults integrated into practice Support Team: Advanced Practice Clinicians (consult only), plus robust ancillary support including nutrition, social work, chaplaincy, smoking cessation, and patient advocacy services Teaching Opportunities: Engagement with UVA Hematology/Oncology fellows (0–2 per year rotate through) Qualifications
