Clinical Research Coordinator - East Bay (Alameda County) Proctor Foundation – Full Time Job Code: 85957BR Location: Oakland, CA Responsibilities

The Community Health Technician (CHT) will perform independently or with general direction to execute, manage, and coordinate research protocols and outreach activities, as directed by the Study Coordinator and Principal Investigator (PI). Coordinate the data collection and daily operations of the community-based study under the guidelines of research protocols, UCSF policies, and relevant regulatory agency policies. Support the implementation of a mobile glaucoma screening program; coordinate participant outreach and appointment scheduling; conduct on-site vision screening procedures, data collection and entry; manage study progress; report study progress to investigators. Participate in internal and external audits or reviews of study protocols; perform other duties as assigned. Drive and operate a mobile outreach van equipped with devices for vision screening. Requires a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and comfort with operating and parking the van and managing sensitive equipment. On-site vision screenings at partnering clinics, including optical coherence tomography (OCT), tonometry, visual field testing, and visual acuity assessment. Train to perform screening procedures, REDCap data entry, and other research tasks. Qualifications

HS graduation and some post-secondary training, or equivalent experience/training; ability to perform duties and responsibilities with demonstrated skills. Attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a diverse population. Ability to work independently, complete projects timely, and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Driver’s license and clean driving record; be prepared to provide a current DMV record upon request. Experience with data entry. Preferred Qualifications

Ophthalmic or optometric technician certification and/or experience Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) Understanding of patient population to build rapport and gauge appropriate participation Spanish language fluency Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) Understanding of patient safety and confidentiality policies (electronic and hard copy medical records, patient charts, etc.) Familiarity with regulatory guidelines: HIPAA, Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, the Protection of Human Research Subjects, CHR regulations for recruitment and consent Experience with communities in Oakland and the East Bay is a plus About UCSF
