Overview

A Senior Hardware Design & Test Engineer at Raytheon is responsible for designing, analyzing, integrating, and testing RF and microwave components and subsystems in both design and production environments. The role includes troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and supporting the transition to manufacturing while ensuring security clearance requirements are met. The position supports continuous improvement and collaboration across multiple sites in Massachusetts. What You Will Do

Support the technical investigation and resolution of design, build, and test issues identified on Receiver Exciter subsystems, CCAs, and components. RF/Microwave circuit and subsystem design, modeling, simulation, and verification. Integration and test at component, CCA, and subsystem levels. Transition to production and provide technical support to manufacturing and test engineers. Support small projects or process improvements within area of responsibility. Participate in circuit card and subassembly design updates to resolve obsolescence and producibility issues. This role is 100% on-site and will be based in Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA. Travel is anticipated between multiple sites including Andover, MA and Woburn, MA. Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years’ experience OR an Advanced degree with minimum 3 years’ experience. Experience with Microwave / RF system, subsystem and/or component analysis, design and/or test. Experience in failure analysis / Root-Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, preferably with supplier and factory issues. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance post-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with testing and troubleshooting RF and Microwave components/subsystems such as up-converters, down converters, power amplifiers, waveform generators, RF modulators, and limiters. Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, including yield and margin analysis. Technical writing and formal presentation experience. Experience working in both engineering design and production environments. Experience with tools: Mentor Graphics Designer, PSPICE, System Vision, MATLAB, Mathcad, IDL, CST, HFSS, ADS. Technical background in: cascade analysis and/or frequency planning; filter design and fabrication; circuit card assembly and fabrication; high speed data converter test / characterization; low noise RF source design and test experience.
