ASRC Federal is seeking a
Network Engineer Level IV
to support an upcoming government contract located in Bethesda, MD. Work location : Onsite (Monday – Friday) / Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Clearance:
Public Trust; successfully complete a government issued background investigation Responsibilities
Oversees and participates in the design, test, upgrade and integrate new or existing information networks such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Voice over IP (VoIP), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks in accordance with the organization’s business requirements. Interacts with Project Management team, ITD, and customer base to ensure project plans are built, documented, updated, and completed in scheduled time frame. Communicates with senior level executives/customers as well as core project teams; elicits requirements from SMEs, customers and stakeholders through interviews and artifact/ document analysis; and interprets customer/staff business needs and translates them into operational process requirements. Document all aspects of the engineering process as it relates to build and configuration, testing, and deployment of networks. Coordinate changes such as implementation of new networks, upgrades, or version increments to existing networks. Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures to safeguard new and existing networks. Performs network diagraming, modeling, analysis, and planning. Coordinates with architecture, evaluates new and emerging network technologies, and make recommendations for selection of these products. Assists other network engineers with complex troubleshooting issues and if needed coordinates vendor engagements to assist in troubleshooting efforts. Provide day-to-day operational or administrative duties for deployed networks in lab or production environments. Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Uses creativity and independent thinking to solve complex technical problems and introducing process improvement throughout work environment. Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to complex problems with little or no supervision. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. Expected to train, oversee, and supervise staff. Requirements
Proficient in English, written and spoken. Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio. Provide after-hours on-call and downtime support on rotational basis. Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time. Must be able to install network equipment. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must be able to respond to network issues and complete assigned trouble tickets at all network data closets. Demonstrate good time management skills. Learn, monitor, manage, and update network management tools and develop skills to Support the project/construction and cable reroutes, fiber splicing Direct support for PMO and CTO Obtain and maintain a Public Trust Successfully complete a government issued background investigation Education/Experience
