Overview
The Division of Human Biology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) is launching an Assistant or Associate Professor faculty search for a laboratory-based scientist whose work advances our understanding of human disease mechanisms that will contribute to an understanding of the biological basis of solid cancers and translation to the clinic. The successful candidate will enter a dynamic research environment focused on understanding the biology of cancer, its molecular and pathogenic origins, and its consequences to health. Human Biology encourages taking bold risks, has forums and financial mechanisms to foster collaboration, and provides robust physical and intellectual infrastructure to foster scientific success. For consideration, applicants must have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, or MD scientists) and a substantial record of achievement in areas that include, but are not limited to: cell autonomous and non-cell autonomous mechanisms of cancer initiation, evolution, and/or progression; genomics/systems biology; computational cancer biology; functional genomics; post-transcriptional gene regulation; novel therapeutics; and mechanisms of drug resistance. Faculty are expected to perform their primary activities on-site at Fred Hutch. Fred Hutch is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington. The annual base salary ranges are as follows: PhD researchers: Assistant Professor $183,585 - $205,428; Associate Professor $205,707 - $239,585. MD physician-scientists: Assistant Professor $226,754 - $443,704; Associate Professor $255,843 - $470,340. Pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Pay for Faculty positions is based on a variety of factors, including degree, specialty, clinical practice and experience. This position is eligible for relocation assistance and sign-on bonus.
