Overview
Consultant - Digital Assets Director of Business Development (Fractional/Contract Role) Arootah is seeking experienced Directors of Business Development, Directors of Capital Raising and Directors of Fundraising to consult for hedge funds and family offices. As a consultant, you will provide expert advisory services to our client base in the investment and financial services industry, focusing on strategic capital raising and business development initiatives. Responsibilities
Provide advice and guidance to Arootah clients seeking Capital Raising assistance with leading hedge funds and family offices. Develop realistic and effective monthly action plans; identify roadblocks and break goals into actionable steps. Devise plans of action for each goal and supply resources, policies, procedures, and control measures for implementation. Review, analyze, and report on client tools to ensure industry best practices; evaluate advancement toward goals using KPIs and scoring matrices. Maintain detailed records of consulting results, including challenges and breakthroughs. Oversee day-to-day management of capital raising activities, including marketing decks, collateral, lead sourcing, and collaboration with Prime Broker Capital Introduction Teams or other sales organizations. Collaborate with clients to develop prospect lists and execute engagement strategies; maximize team resources to meet fundraising objectives, including practice presentations and due diligence prep. Help craft the sales narrative and organize a marketing plan to attract and retain clients and investors. Supervise fundraising staff via regular meetings and sales management reporting tools; train and mentor junior staff. Coordinate with internal groups (senior management, operations, risk management, legal, compliance) to satisfy client and regulatory requirements and ensure RFP/DDQ accuracy. Organize data on prospective investors to move leads through the sales funnel in a compliant manner. Advise on terms, structure, vendor selection, and other factors to attract institutional and high net worth investors. Cultivate relationships and raise awareness of diverse capital sources and distribution channels. Review potential financing, seeding arrangements, joint ventures, and revenue-sharing arrangements against industry best practices. Identify and target markets, coordinate outreach campaigns, and help build brand awareness and trust as a sales consultant. Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or Business Administration, or a related field. MBA, CFA, CAIA, or advanced degree is a plus; sales or financial industry designations (e.g., Series 7 or Series 63) are a plus. At least ten years of professional experience in a similar Business Development or Capital Raising role with demonstrated success in raising assets for hedge funds, alternative investment firms, or family offices. Proven ability to raise assets in partnership with Institutional Sales Teams; experience cultivating leads and engaging clients for alternative investment strategies. Experience collaborating with sophisticated institutional clients and prospective clients; ability to develop new opportunities. Knowledge of multi-asset sectors and investment types (public equity long/short, private equity, fixed income, absolute return multi-strategy). Strong analytical, quantitative, written, and verbal skills; confident client presentation abilities with strong follow-through. Entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and able to interact with personnel across senior levels. Job Status & Compensation
Contractor (0-40 hours per week, based on client needs). Hourly rate: $250 - $500 per hour.
