Job Title: Travel Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN)
Location: Washington, DC 20007 (Georgetown)
Healthcare Setting: Interventional Radiology Unit
Employment Type: Travel Nurse, Locum Tenens
Assignment Start Date: October 20, 2025
Assignment End Date: January 19, 2026
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift Schedule: 4x10-hour day shifts (07:00 – 17:30)
Weekly Hours: 40
Estimated Weekly Salary: $2320 - $2490
On-Call/Weekend: One weekend call every 4-6 weeks; weekday call every other week
Float Requirement: May float to cath lab holding
Qualifications – Interventional Radiology RN
Active DC Registered Nurse (RN) license (in hand or pending at submission)
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, procedural nursing, ICU, or ER
Proven experience with moderate sedation and IV starts
Proficiency with Cerner EMR charting system
Two supervisor references required
Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care in the Interventional Radiology unit for adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients
Assist with a wide range of IR procedures: angioplasty, carotid angiography, stenting, central venous access, chemoembolization, chest tube placement, dialysis graft creation/revision, discogram, embolization, endovascular interventions, gastrostomy tube placement, liver biopsy, nephrostomy, renal angiography, thoracentesis, vertebroplasty, and more
Administer moderate sedation and initiate IVs for procedures
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
Participate in on-call rotation and float to cath lab holding as needed
