Radiation Therapy Technologists perform technical therapeutic procedures using ionizing radiation to treat benign or malignant diseases. They work with Radiation Oncologists and Dosimetrists to discuss treatment plans, position patients, verify equipment setup, monitor for reactions, record delivered dosages, and ensure communication and safety procedures are understood. Responsibilities
Confer with Radiation Oncologists and Dosimetrists to discuss treatment plans and necessary simulator films. Place reference markings on patients’ bodies and position patients for single portal, multiple portal, rotation, or cross-beam therapy; provide immobilization devices as required. Set up equipment according to the treatment plan and verify placement of bars, wedges, and similar devices. Monitor patients for unexpected reactions and report deviations to the Therapist; document delivered dosage values and verify against the prescribed plan. Calculate prescribed dosages of ionizing radiation to be delivered; operate simulation, radiographic, and processing equipment; evaluate image quality for localization and verification port films. Prepare applicators for interstitial or intracavitary implants as needed; perform minor equipment adjustments and order supplies. Work as part of a team with senior staff; operate orthovoltage equipment and take radiographic films for simulation when required. Minimum Qualifications
California Radiology Technologist of Radiography (CRT-R). Registered Technologist for Radiation Therapy (R.T.(T)) issued by ARRT. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months of hire date. Experience with daily setup and treatment of patients. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a large, complex healthcare environment. Experience with CT Simulations, MU Calculations, Aria, Patient Manager, Treatment and Time Planner. Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. This position requires flexibility, floating to other locations up to 30% of the time based on department needs. Pay
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $124,090 - $154,282 (will be prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $59.43 - $73.89 Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, licensure, and organizational needs. Additional Information
