ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL (250006PG) – Constitutional & Administrative Law Division, Government Bureau. The Attorney General’s Office seeks a highly motivated attorney to represent state officials and agencies in appeals and litigation in state and federal courts, including issues involving constitutional and administrative law, state statutes and regulations, and agency adjudicatory decisions. Position Type: Full-Time / Exempt Hybrid work model with some remote days; on in-office days, reports to Boston or regional office locations. Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar or have a pending admission application. Must be a member of the bar of the United States District Court for Massachusetts or be eligible for admission in short order. 3 to 5 years of relevant legal experience preferred. Familiarity with constitutional law, administrative law, civil and appellate procedure, and trial practice. Effective legal writing skills and the ability to independently handle litigation in trial and appellate courts. Demonstrated interest in public service and working in a collaborative, public-law environment. The successful candidate should demonstrate a connection to the people and communities served and support a respectful and inclusive work environment. Applicants must be Massachusetts Bar-eligible at the time of application and must apply for admission before start date.
