The UCSF School of Dentistry is actively recruiting a

Prosthodontist

to serve as the Clinic Director of the UCSF Dental Practice, a high-volume, multi-specialty dental clinic located in San Mateo. This flagship practice emphasizes technology, integrated care, and an exceptional patient experience. Under the general direction of the UCSF School of Dentistry Chief Operating Officer and Vice Dean, the Clinic Director will lead day-to-day operations of the UCSF Dental Practice, ensuring alignment with UCSF Health standards. Responsibilities include operational excellence, financial performance and sustainability, quality assurance and risk management, standard operating procedures, and patient safety and incident reporting. The Clinic Director will facilitate clinical and consultative conferences to support integrated, collaborative care, oversee a multidisciplinary dental team, and champion a culture of service excellence, patient-centered care, and interprofessional collaboration.

As Prosthodontist, the Clinic Director will provide direct patient care with a focus on complex restorative and prosthodontic treatments, diagnose and treat oral diseases and conditions requiring prosthodontic intervention, consult with other providers to deliver interdisciplinary care, and participate in advancing digital dentistry and technology-enhanced treatments.

Required Qualifications

Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Post-doctoral residency in prosthodontics CODA-accredited training in Prosthodontics Eligible for licensure or special permit in California Proven experience as a prosthodontist Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination Outstanding patient management skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative care Strong clinic/patient care management and knowledge of scheduling, regulatory/compliance, and technology Commitment to anti-racist/anti-oppressive patient care, education, teaching, and advocacy Preferred Qualifications

Board certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics (preferred) Knowledge of healthcare IT and patient care workflows Familiarity with Epic, Axium, and billing processes Ability to lead multiple dentists and staff in a busy clinic Skills in complex esthetic and reconstructive dentistry Strong interpersonal skills for patient and colleague interactions License/Certification
