To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements listed below and any additional requirements specified in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or license requirements may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed VA physicians who met the requirements at their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens are unavailable, in accordance with VA Policy. Degree:
Doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved medical school. Licensure:
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S., its territories, or the District of Columbia. Residency Training:
Completion of an approved residency program leading to eligibility for board certification. Residency programs approved by ACGME or AOA are recognized; other programs followed by at least five years of verified practice in the U.S. are also acceptable. Additional Eligibility:
Residents in accredited programs may be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who are fully licensed but only perform certain duties under supervision and are not considered independent practitioners. Language Proficiency:
Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience:
Board eligible candidates are preferred. Physical Requirements:
Must pass a VA pre-employment physical, capable of moderate lifting, reaching, walking, standing, bending, climbing, and hearing whisper. Duties
Eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), with application required within four months of appointment. Offerings include a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive salary, performance bonuses, paid time off, retirement plans, insurance, licensure reimbursement, CME reimbursement, and malpractice coverage. Position involves clinical duties in diagnostic radiology, including procedures like NG tube placement, fistulograms, cystograms, and joint injections, but excludes breast imaging and nuclear medicine. The successful candidate will be based at the Daytona Beach Outpatient Clinic, with duties including establishing procedures, participating in general radiology work, and engaging in educational activities. Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, with potential for various shifts based on facility needs.
