To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed VA physicians who met the requirements at their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree:
Doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved school. License:
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Residency Training:
Completion of residency in an approved core specialty (Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Radiology, Mammography/Breast Imaging). Fellowship:
Subspecialty fellowship leading to eligibility for board certification. Board Certification:
Certified in Diagnostic Radiology. English Proficiency:
Proficient in written and spoken English. Physical Requirements:
Must pass pre-employment physical, capable of moderate lifting, standing, bending, and hearing whisper. Duties
Interpret routine diagnostic, CT, MRI, and ultrasound exams. Perform fluoroscopic exams and oversee contrast media administration. Consult with patients, perform diagnostic procedures, interpret examinations, and develop treatment plans. Perform interventional procedures such as biopsies and angiographies. Supervise and teach USF Residents, with academic appointments at the University of South Florida. Participate in departmental decision-making and administrative duties. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).
