Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved school. Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Residency Training: Completion of an approved residency program leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies include those approved by ACGME, AOA, or other deemed appropriate programs. Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA residencies and meeting other requirements may be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee basis. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical Requirements: Walking, sitting, talking, driving, using the telephone, etc. Strenuous activity is not required; light lifting and carrying (under 15 pounds), hearing aids permitted. Duties
This is an open continuous announcement, accepting applications on an ongoing basis until September 30, 2025. Act as imaging consultants to clinical services/sections. Direct activities of residents, Medical Support Assistants, technologists, and nurses. Supervise administration of medications, including contrast agents. Responsible for supervision and interpretation of interventional procedures. Interpret a wide range of diagnostic studies, ideally fellowship trained. Participate in multidisciplinary Tumor Board and coordinate care in liver-directed therapy programs. Provide comprehensive radiologic care to a diverse Veteran population.
