Position: Description: What You\'ll Do and Who You\'ll Work With Reporting directly to the Director of Electrical Engineering, the Principal Engineer will be responsible for electrical engineering design aspects of capital projects and facility upgrades, electrical design support for planned outages and design requirements related to equipment troubleshooting, and business development/expansion projects at various operating facilities. The role will lead, manage and execute multiple electrical projects/programs in the network, provide subject matter expertise, and lead cross-functional teams while driving technical standardization as a guardian of certain Electrical Design Standards for Reworld. The Engineer will act as a mentor to more junior team members and will serve as a primary Electrical Engineering SME to the business. This position offers high visibility across the organization and tangible impact on success. Location/Travel: Preferred location is Morristown, NJ Headquarters. This role requires close collaboration with corporate functions and facilities and will include ~20% travel across the network, including travel to domestic locations and Low-Cost Countries such as China. A remote work option is available with some additional travel to Morristown and across the network. Compensation varies by location. Responsibilities
Electrical Design (Core Responsibility): Independently develop/review/approve electrical system design documents including One Line/Three Line Diagrams, Control Schematics, Wiring diagrams, Arc Flash, Short Circuit & Voltage Drop Calculations, Coordination Studies. Develop scope of work for electrical AE firms and coordinate with suppliers and contractors. Plan design tasks to achieve design and construction within budget and schedule. May assume duties of technical lead for small to medium capital programs. Electrical design scope includes system design, scope development, engineering calculations, specifications, and risk assessments for HV, MV systems (switchgears, transformers, MCCs, relay/protection systems). Engineering Standards (Core Responsibility): Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and criteria, act as SME and guardian of key electrical design standards. Update design standards periodically to reflect best practices and regulatory developments. Commissioning/Startup: Provide SME design support to Project Managers for assigned construction projects and engineering support for commissioning and installations. Troubleshooting/Problem Solving: Provide electrical engineering design troubleshooting support to plant operations; analyze root causes and develop cost-effective technical solutions for RCAs. Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum 10 years of engineering experience. Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure preferred. Experience with High, Medium & Low Voltage distribution systems and electrical power generation in large utility power plants or large industrial co-generation facilities or design/architectural engineering firms. Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision. Proficiency in One Line/Three Line Diagrams, DC control schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings related to interconnections, substations, power plants and electrical aspects of process plants including motors, MCCs, PDCs, and other electrical equipment. Experience with project phases from preliminary design through start-up, including HV to LV voltage ranges; protective relaying schemes (Medium Voltage) and relay settings; SEL relays experience preferred. Proficiency in engineering software such as CAD/AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Powertools, SEL Accelerator, etc. Strong written and oral communication skills, data analysis, technical writing, and ability to develop work packages and manage multiple assignments.
