Client Specialists are the first line of contact at all Barry’s studios. They are knowledgeable about all aspects of the business and comply with company policies. Client Specialists develop lasting client relationships by delivering superior hospitality, assisting with class selections, bookings, and questions; maintaining a clean studio; FuelBar orders; and merchandise purchases. They are excellent communicators, positive brand ambassadors, and convey memorable client experiences. We are seeking passionate, hardworking, reliable, team-oriented problem-solvers with strong interpersonal skills, a love for health, and a commitment to building a stronger Barry’s community. This role encompasses front desk, facilities, and Fuel Bar responsibilities. What You’ll Do
Front Desk Responsibilities
Enhance client experience through hospitality, service, and studio amenities to build personalized experiences and support sales and service. Act as a brand ambassador: warmly welcome clients and ensure they have a memorable Barry’s experience. Develop constructive relationships with clients and staff; assist clients with questions or concerns. Communicate with supervisors and peers in a timely and accurate manner (phone, email, text, in person). Deliver first-class client experiences and maintain a clean, welcoming studio environment. Guide clients on current studio promotions, membership discounts, and special events; maintain product knowledge for retail operations. Participate in training and development programs as directed by Operations leaders. Maintain flexibility in schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, meeting minimum availability requirements. Fuel Bar Responsibilities
Deliver quality protein smoothies and customer service in the Fuel Bar; handle pre-orders and on-site orders tailored to clients’ needs. Assist clients with product questions and selections; complete orders using POS systems; keep the Fuel Bar area clean and sanitized. Follow safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures compliant with health regulations; rotate merchandise and manage perishables appropriately. Prepare Fuel Bar items according to company recipes. Facility Maintenance
Prepare studios before, between, and after classes by cleaning equipment, sweeping, mopping, and wiping mirrors; maintain locker rooms to brand standards. Conduct regular deep cleaning and organization of common areas; perform small studio repairs as needed. Handle laundry services, including towels; follow daily/weekly cleaning checklists. Customer Service
Provide the highest level of hospitality to all clients; maintain and utilize client databases to increase engagement. Participate in community events to generate new business and invite clients to in-studio events. Qualifications
Strong hospitality skills and alignment with Barry’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Ability to work either full-time or part-time. Full-time: minimum 30 hours/week, including mornings/evenings and at least one weekend day. Part-time: minimum 24 hours/week with shifts including mornings/evenings and at least one weekend day. Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication skills; patient, courteous listener; can-do attitude; team-oriented. Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and maintain sanitary cleanliness and professional appearance. Must be at least 18 years old to apply. The pay range for this role is 17.50 USD per hour (Washington, D.C.). The position is based in Washington, DC (Navy Yard). This entry-level role is Part-time.
