Vice President – Investment Banking, Power, Utilities and Infrastructure. National Bank of Canada Financial Inc. (”National”) – New York, NY. As Vice President in the Investment Banking division, you will play a senior leadership role in originating and executing strategic M&A transactions across the power, energy transition, and infrastructure sectors in North America. You will collaborate closely with National’s Credit Capital Markets and Debt Capital Markets teams to identify and deliver financing solutions to our clients. Your Job
As an Investment Banking Vice President, you will actively participate in a wide variety of transactions headed by senior members of the Power, Utilities & Infrastructure (PU&I) Investment Banking team and will be expected to have a strong understanding of the industry sector as part of your responsibilities. The individual will have a number of responsibilities which include the following:
Responsibilities
Marketing, executing and structuring investment banking mandates focused on M&A, other strategic advisory, project financings, and capital markets transactions
Managing the preparation of presentations and other client materials for clients
Overseeing the building of, and maintaining complex financial/valuation models
Coordinating company and industry research
Managing several projects at once and working effectively as an individual and as part of a team
Providing mentorship, oversight and guidance to Associates and Analysts
Participating in the recruitment, development and training of junior team members
Team National is a full-service investment bank with a strong presence in the Power, Utilities & Infrastructure sector. The team has recently hired two senior members in New York to lead the PU&I franchise. The team is approximately 20 people across New York and Toronto and is looking to strategically expand in New York. This role will appeal to highly motivated individuals seeking to further develop their career in a leadership role. We are seeking candidates who have demonstrated success working in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Candidates should have superior analytical abilities, advanced oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong project management skills as well as a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative attitude.
Basic Requirements
Minimum of five years of relevant investment banking or M&A experience
Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting, economics or a field related to the sector of activity
Relevant experience and prior client relationships in the power, utilities, and infrastructure sectors
Strong technical skills in financial modeling and analytical problem-solving
Effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders
FINRA Series 7, 63, 79 preferred; MBA, CPA, or CFA considered assets
Ability to work on-site in the New York City office at least 4 days a week
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer
Salary The salary range for this role is $225,000 - $250,000. The amounts indicated in this job offer are in U.S. dollars.
