We are seeking an accomplished Director of Finance to serve as a strategic leader and trusted advisor, driving both financial performance and long-term growth. This role uniquely combines forward-looking FP&A leadership with controllership oversight—ensuring financial integrity while delivering insights that shape the business.
As a finance leader, you will partner closely with executive and business unit leadership, leading planning, forecasting, reporting, and compliance while also steering strategic decision-making and operational excellence. This position offers high visibility with senior executives and requires a leader who can foster accountability, influence outcomes, and build the financial foundation for continued success in one of today’s most impactful industries.
The role is based in Houston, TX, with an expectation of four days per week onsite.
Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership – Lead FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for the business unit, aligning financial strategies with corporate objectives. Insight & Decision Support – Deliver actionable analysis, variance reviews, and performance reporting to guide executive decisions and resource allocation. Financial Integrity & Compliance – Oversee controllership functions, ensuring accuracy of reporting, adherence to GAAP, strong internal controls, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Capital & Investment Oversight – Drive capital planning, investment analysis, and business cases with data-driven recommendations that balance growth and risk. Operational Partnership – Collaborate with business leaders to establish KPIs, improve operational efficiency, and reinforce financial accountability across the organization. Team Development – Lead and mentor the finance team, cultivating professional growth, innovation, and a culture of continuous improvement. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred. 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with demonstrated leadership in both FP&A and controllership. Proven success in driving financial strategy, leading planning processes, and managing financial reporting at scale. Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence, engage, and present effectively to senior leadership. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and PowerPoint; ERP system experience strongly preferred. Highly collaborative, results-oriented, and adept at thriving in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Based in Houston, TX, with an in-office presence required four days per week and up to 20% travel. Compensation:
