Psychiatrist
candidates for full-time healthcare positions. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Degree issuing institution and/or program must be accredited by an entity recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from a school in the United States. Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provides education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States as established by:
The National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA) Permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Tennessee. BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association. Ability to pass a federal government security background check. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, adhering to current accepted standards, licensure, certification, credentialing, and privileges. Provides treatment across the lifespan appropriate to discipline and setting. Responds to and coordinates responses to medical emergencies as needed. Prescribes and monitors psychiatric medications, including side effects and adverse reactions. Offers comprehensive psycho-educational information about treatments, potential benefits, risks, and support resources. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Walks unaided for up to 10 minutes and maintains balance. Responds to medical emergencies within 4 minutes, possibly requiring a brisk walk or jog. Performs CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling. Assists sick, injured, or aging individuals during emergencies, which may involve lifting or dragging. Has normal vision, hearing, and smell, with or without aids. Alternates between kneeling and standing easily. Lifts, pushes, or carries up to 30 pounds. Can stand on hard surfaces for extended periods.
