Overview
The Senior Buyer – North America Indirect is responsible for defining and deploying category strategies for NA spend in alignment with global and regional strategies, collaborating with stakeholders to maximize procurement value and ensure supplier relationship management. This role is based in the US headquarters in Stamford, CT, with a hybrid working policy requiring three days in the office. Responsibilities
Strategy & Governance: conduct regular market research and analysis for own category; support global/regional strategies and define local strategies based on market research and analysis; consult on global strategy development in similar categories within the region; develop and implement local/regional strategies in alignment with the Team Lead. Procurement Business Partnering: full authority in supplier selection, negotiation and contracting of local/regional frame conditions; lead or influence global/regional initiatives along the defined category roadmap; contract management with legal; negotiate, review and maintain contracts and Master Service Agreements; monitor activities to maximize procurement value; collaborate with demand owners to select cost-effective and/or value-added suppliers; identify and implement cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives. Performance Management: responsible for performance of total spend in own category; timely documentation of procurement KPI data (e.g., savings) and regular data aggregation to manage performance. Procurement Processes & Systems: ensure compliance with legal and Beiersdorf procurement procedures; maintain master data for negotiations/contracts; drive process development for standardization, efficiency, and automation; manage eCatalogues and automated order channels; support Purchase-to-Pay processes; perform SRM and SAP local key user responsibilities for US & Canada. Supplier Management: ensure proper supplier selection to minimize supply risks; manage supplier relationships and escalations; handle supplier complaints as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in business/marketing or equivalent. 4+ years of strategic procurement experience; preferred category experience in Indirect goods/services. Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods or related field is a plus. Proven use of sourcing tools and techniques (RFI, RFQ, category analysis, market research); negotiation, contract review, supplier management, and project management. Strong cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving deadlines; strong attention to detail and accountability; proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of SRM/SAP/ERP/E-Sourcing (Ariba) and Power BI is desirable.
