The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking an outstanding candidate for a full-time faculty position as an Academic Cytopathologist at the Clinical Instructor in the Health Sciences Clinical or at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X Series. This position is in the Department of Pathology. The incumbent is expected to participate in night and weekend surgical pathology call, departmental teaching activities for medical students, house staff, fellows, and interdepartmental conferences.
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold an MD degree (or equivalent), possess a valid California medical license (or qualify to obtain one at the time of appointment), and Board certified in Anatomic Pathology and be board eligible or certified in Cytopathology (as documented in the application materials).
Applicants’ materials must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission. Preferred candidates will have expertise in surgical pathology, as demonstrated by formal fellowship training, comparable experience and publications, and ideally, have completed fellowship training in surgical pathology or a surgical pathology subspecialty. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated and participated in clinical and/or translational research.
Candidates with strong interpersonal skills are preferred. The salary and appointment rank for this position will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and training.
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 . The minimum base salary range for this position is $106,000 - $405,900. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
