Job Summary
This position focuses on managing members with specialty (ONCOLOGY) diagnoses. It involves performing all functions of case management (CM) and serving as the primary contact for members, healthcare professionals, and other involved entities. The primary nurse case administrator coordinates care, identifies alternative treatment options, consults with physicians and members, promotes quality and cost-effective outcomes, and acts as a liaison. The role also includes providing education and resources to members, assessing their needs, and facilitating care coordination. Job Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, valid, unrestricted license in the state of operation Minimum 4 years of clinical practice, including 3 years of recent specialty (ONCOLOGY) clinical experience Knowledge of oncology drugs, therapies, treatment protocols, side effects, and complications Current certification in OCN, ONS, or ONCC Proficiency in Word, Excel, and database management Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of utilization management, case management, disease management activities, and standardized criteria Familiarity with ancillary services such as HHC, SNF, Hospice Sound clinical judgment, analytical skills, and effective communication Multi-state nursing licenses if applicable, with fees covered by HCSC Understanding of treatment protocols, side effects, and nutritional considerations Experience in problem solving, healthy coping, and setting SMART goals Maintaining current certification in specialized fields Preferred Qualifications
RN Compact License Oncology Certification CCM certification (preferred) Experience managing complex health cases Inpatient and outpatient experience One year in care management within health insurance or managed care Knowledge of medical management policies One year of education experience in a specialty area This is a remote role; candidates must reside within 250 miles of the office or within the state. #LI-Remote, #LI-DP1, #CA Questions about referrals?
