Job Description Summary
This position primarily manages members with specialty (ONCOLOGY) diagnoses. The role involves performing case management functions, serving as a primary contact for members, healthcare providers, and other involved entities. The primary nurse case administrator coordinates care, identifies treatment options, consults with physicians and members, promotes quality and cost-effective outcomes, and acts as a liaison. Responsibilities include providing education, introducing members to website tools, educating about specific conditions, and facilitating care coordination. Job Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, valid, unrestricted license in the state of operation At least 4 years of clinical practice, including 3 years of recent Oncology specialty experience Knowledge of oncology diagnosis drugs, therapies, and protocols Current certification in OCN, ONS, or ONCC Proficiency in Word, Excel, and database management Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of utilization management, case management, and disease management activities Familiarity with ancillary services such as HHC, SNF, Hospice Strong clinical judgment, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities Multi-state nursing licenses as required, with fees covered by HCSC Knowledge of treatment protocols, side effects, and dietary considerations Ability to establish SMART goals and healthy coping strategies Maintaining current certification is required for certified specialists Preferred Job Requirements:
RN Compact License Oncology Certification CCM Certification (preferred) Experience managing complex health cases Inpatient and outpatient experience One year of care management experience in health insurance/managed care Knowledge of medical management policies and procedures One year of education experience in a specialty area This is a remote position requiring residence within 250 miles of the office or within the state. #LI-Remote #LI-DP1 #CA Compensation:
