Overview
UNC Health is seeking a clinical faculty member to join our hospitalist practice at the large regional campus in Wilmington, NC. This is a clinically focused position with a primary location based in a community hospital in Whiteville, NC. Candidates can also work at the regional children\'s hospital at Betty Cameron Children\'s Hospital in Wilmington, NC. The regional campus has a strong connection to a large academic group and quaternary children\'s hospital, and is part of an innovative partnership between UNC and Novant Health with additional collaborations in southeastern and coastal NC. This recruitment is for three people to join seven other full-time hospitalists and five advanced practice practitioners who work with the hospitalist team in Wilmington to provide pediatric and newborn care. Depending on interest and experience, leadership opportunities are available. Responsibilities
Provide clinical care at the community hospital, including care at a small Level 1 newborn nursery, delivery room resuscitation coverage, emergency department pediatric consultations, and management support for patients in the ED and occasional inpatient admissions. Deliver care at the regional children\'s hospital with full-spectrum hospitalist and subspecialty coverage, including teaching and evaluating Family Medicine residents, UNC medical students, and UNC PHM fellows. Collaborate with an academic group and quaternary children\'s hospital; participate in teaching, supervision, and educational activities. Support call responsibilities within the local area as arranged with the hospitalist team. Engage in potential leadership opportunities based on interest and experience. Qualifications
MD or DO (Doctorate: MD or DO). Pediatrics residency in an accredited program. Board certified or eligible in General Pediatrics and/or Hospital Pediatrics. Location & Schedule
Location of Job: US:NC:Wilmington with primary location in Whiteville, NC; regional children\'s hospital in Wilmington, NC. This is a full-time, onsite position with standard hours per week (40.00) and Day Job schedule. Additional Details
