The University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine is seeking a clinical faculty member to join our neonatology practice at the large regional campus and Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Wilmington, NC. This is a regional community children’s hospital with strong ties to a large academic group and a quaternary children’s hospital, part of a partnership between UNC and Novant Health.

Position Summary The UNC School of Medicine seeks a clinical faculty member to join our neonatology practice at the large regional campus and Level 3 NICU in Wilmington, NC. This multi-specialty academic practice and children’s hospital is part of a partnership between UNC and Novant Health to provide specialty care to children from communities throughout southeastern and coastal NC. The NICU at Betty Cameron Children’s Hospital includes a 45-bed Level III unit with advanced care capabilities. The majority of clinical time will be at the Level III NICU with some time at regional Level II NICUs and remote supervision of Level I/II NICUs.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical care in a regional Level III NICU setting and participate in a quaternary pediatric hospital environment.
Contribute to teaching and potential clinical research; interest in education is desirable.
Collaborate with UNC Health System and regional partners to deliver high-quality neonatal care.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
Doctorate (MD or DO); Pediatrics residency; Fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
License/Certifications:
Board-certified or eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Preferred Qualifications:
Commitment to patient care, research and medical education; rank and salary commensurate with training and experience
