Summary: Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, has a full-time opportunity for a BC/BE pediatric endocrinologist. This role primarily focuses on inpatient clinical care within a hospital-based setting. The center features its own endocrinology inpatient unit for infants and children with endocrine disorders, as well as a dedicated neonatal hypoglycemia pod in the Neonatal ICU staffed by experienced nurses. The schedule is flexible, allowing the candidate to concentrate mainly on inpatient care, with optional outpatient clinics. Opportunities for involvement in clinical research and teaching are available, along with affiliations with local medical schools (TCU and UNT). The endocrinology team, led by Division Chief Dr. Paul Thornton, includes 13 board-certified pediatric endocrinologists, 5 advanced practice providers, CDCES, psychologists, dieticians, and social workers. The center is renowned for its congenital hyperinsulinism program, lipid clinic, and CAH care center, among others. The department also holds three endowed chairs.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required.
American Heart Association BLS and PALS certifications.
Unrestricted Texas Medical license (must be obtained prior to start date).
Successful completion of an ACGME or AMA-accredited residency in pediatrics.
Board certified or eligible in pediatric endocrinology.
