Overview Academic Cardiologists – General Cardiology

Salary Range: Assistant Professor: $284,660 - $433,298 per year; Associate Professor: $304,620 - $464,612 per year; Professor: $304,016 - $466,429 per year

The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank in the area of general and preventive cardiology. Appointees will have clinical responsibilities including outpatient clinic, reading EKGs, and inpatient ward and consultative cardiology predominantly at our main campus and, if needed, at affiliated sites. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Please note that this is not a cardiac imaging position, and appointees will not be expected to perform or read cardiac imaging. Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must:

have a medical doctorate or equivalent,

hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Illinois, and

be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology.
