Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within 4 months of appointment. Program approval, including award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years), is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be tentatively referred and selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are fulfilled. VA physicians who met the requirements at their initial appointment are deemed qualified. Basic Requirements:

US Citizenship (non-citizens only if recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible) Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited school Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in the US Completion of approved residency training in a VA-recognized core specialty Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), with limitations Proficiency in spoken and written English Additional preferred qualifications include Board Certification or Eligibility in Anesthesiology, and relevant certifications and training Physical Requirements:

Offer comprehensive total rewards package including incentives and benefits Participate in the Education Debt Reduction Program, meeting all eligibility and application deadlines Provide clinical care as a Board Certified or Board Eligible anesthesiologist, including preoperative assessments, anesthesia procedures in OR and NORA settings, and supervision of nurse anesthetists Engage in surgical quality and performance improvement initiatives Educate patients about their conditions and treatments, ensuring informed consent and disclosure of risks Work schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
