The Family Practice Physician provides comprehensive family medicine services across all ages and genders, within their training and experience. The role may include participation in shared after-hours emergency call coverage, aligned with community needs. Medical care must adhere to SEARHC policies, Medical Staff Bylaws, and nationally recognized standards of care. Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities

Provides comprehensive primary care, including diagnosis, treatment, minor procedures, care coordination, referrals, preventive care, and health maintenance for a dedicated patient panel. Participates in shared urgent/emergent care on-call rotations. Maintains accurate and timely documentation of services per SEARHC policies. Ensures an optimal patient experience through effective listening and communication skills, fostering long-term relationships. Engages in quality patient care initiatives and assurance programs. Participates in provider and clinic meetings, as well as SEARHC medical staff functions. Education, Certifications, and Licenses

Valid Alaska Medical License (MD or DO). Board Eligible or Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Internal Medicine-Pediatrics. If eligible, must be certified within 3 years of hire. Active unrestricted DEA registration. Active SEARHC medical staff privileges. BLS certification. Knowledge

Principles and practices of primary care. Awareness of standards of care, EMTALA, HIPAA, risk management, ethics, and malpractice principles. Skills

Effective communication with staff and patients in a respectful and collaborative manner. Abilities

Deliver high-quality outpatient and emergency medical procedures. Provide clinical leadership, foster teamwork, guide midlevel providers, and resolve conflicts. Utilize electronic medical records and clinical technology efficiently. Communicate clearly, analyze complex situations, problem-solve, and implement clinical strategies.
