Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan repayment initiative. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements as per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. The award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined after review by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Candidates pending completion of training or licensing may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are fulfilled. Current VA-employed physicians who met initial appointment standards are deemed qualified. Basic Requirements: U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens only if recruitment of qualified citizens is not feasible Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S. Residency training approved by VA, leading to eligibility for board certification Residents enrolled in approved residency programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and work on an intermittent or fee basis, under supervision Proficiency in spoken and written English Preferred: Board certification and Primary Care experience Physical ability to perform essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation Duties

This is an open continuous announcement until September 30, 2025, or until filled. Initial application review cutoff is May 30, 2025, with biweekly subsequent reviews. Provides primary care services in a walk-in or deployed setting, requiring 50% travel. Performs evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and therapeutic interventions within assigned units, with clinical privileges. Participates in team meetings, orders diagnostic tests, and ensures practice compliance with policies and standards. Additional duties include credentialing, privileging, and other tasks assigned by the Chief of Primary Care Services. When a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) panel position is available, the incumbent may be reassigned accordingly. Incentives include recruitment/relocation and EDRP eligibility, with specific terms outlined. Benefits include paid time off, federal retirement and insurance, licensure, CME reimbursement, malpractice coverage, and a work schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with some Saturday half-days.
