Overview
Academic Endocrinologist (Position 3-309-1288). The Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition Division at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking a clinician educator. This position will have a primary clinical focus at the University of Maryland Midtown Campus, providing outpatient endocrinology services and inpatient consultative care to a diverse patient population. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team including diabetes educators, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists, and will play an active role in medical student, resident, and endocrinology fellow education at this site. Opportunities exist to participate in community-based initiatives in diabetes and metabolic health, as well as clinical and quality improvement research.
Responsibilities
Provide outpatient endocrinology services and inpatient consultative care.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including diabetes educators, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists.
Engage in education of medical students, residents, and endocrinology fellows.
Participate in community-based initiatives in diabetes and metabolic health.
Contribute to clinical and quality improvement research.
Qualifications Expected faculty rank will be Assistant Professor or higher; final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), BE/BC in Endocrinology, and eligibility for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Maryland.
Compensation and Benefits The expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $169,988 (min) and $260,000 (max). This range reflects base pay based on faculty rank and years in rank, and does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or variable compensation. Actual compensation may vary. For more information, contact the hiring department. The salary range represents minimum and maximum salaries based on the university\'s good faith posting; not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the range. The actual compensation offered will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as determined by the University.
