Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Physician Specialist for the Department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The Physician Specialist – Hospitalist will manage patients admitted to the hospitalist service, collaborating with consultants and subspecialists at RWJUH, and work with emergency room physicians, obstetrics unit physicians, and intensive care units for acute inpatient care on medical-surgical and intermediate care units. The role includes inpatient care and coordinating transitions back to ambulatory settings, in collaboration with surgical and medical oncology support staff and advanced practice providers. Responsibilities

Manage patients on the hospitalist medicine service. Collaborate with consultants and subspecialists at RWJUH. Work with emergency room, obstetrics unit, and ICU physicians as part of a multidisciplinary team. Provide inpatient care for patients requiring acute medical-surgical or intermediate care. Participate in transitions of care back to ambulatory settings. Coordinate with surgical and medical oncology support staff and advanced practice providers. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

– Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of New Jersey. Must be American Board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Family Medicine eligible/board-certified. Current DEA and CDS registrations. Valid driver’s license. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
