Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan repayment initiative. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. The program approval, including award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years), is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services after reviewing the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to reapply. Qualifications
Candidates must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Pending applicants may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are fulfilled. Current VA-employed physicians who initially met the qualification standards are considered to meet the basic requirements. We seek a skilled Psychiatrist for the Fredericksburg Health Care Center - Mental Health. The psychiatrist will serve on an interdisciplinary team, specializing in medication management for mental disorders, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use, and other psychiatric conditions in outpatient settings. The position involves comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and collaboration with various health services. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
