The Director of Welcoming Team Services provides leadership and oversight of programs composed of multiple, multi-disciplinary service teams that enroll and place members into FSP teams. These teams are DMH-funded Full Service Partnership (FSP) teams offering integrated, wrap-around services to individuals with mental health needs and co-occurring conditions who are experiencing poverty. The director is responsible for delivering quality member care, assessing program needs, setting strategic priorities, program development, meeting objectives, and mentoring an interdisciplinary staff. The director serves as a key liaison with partnering agencies, the City of Long Beach, funders, and community members, and works to build relationships with partners connected with the ISC and new social enterprise initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight to the Welcoming team and one FSP team, ensuring excellent care and services for members/clients and compliance with the ACT model, DMH, and MHALA standards. Guide staff outreaching, assessing, and enrolling members; oversee transitions of members into FSP and ICMS teams after enrollment. Provide ongoing strategic direction, support, and training to social service staff; lead development and refinement of site programs and procedures. Guide staff in developing comprehensive recovery and discharge plans; ensure services are appropriate, integrated and delivered with respect for member needs and choices. Establish and maintain partnerships with community resources to benefit member needs. Collaborate with the program directors’ team to support agency-wide strategic program initiatives and foster collaboration with other departments. Coordinate with agency leadership (Development, Finance, Evaluation/Contracts, Training, Real Estate, HR, Policy) on department initiatives and issues. Recruit, train, and mentor staff; facilitate regular all-staff and department leadership meetings. Foster transparent communication and ensure staff input; clearly articulate strategic direction to department staff. Oversee program budget, billing goals, and alignment with funding streams and fiscal targets. Oversee data reporting and ensure timely, accurate documentation in databases/e-charts; conduct ongoing chart reviews for quality assurance. Lead and attend planning and administrative meetings as required by funding sources. Position Requirements
Strong leadership and mentoring skills; excellent organizational abilities; capable of multitasking and managing stress in a fast-paced environment. At least five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a social service agency. Excellent verbal and written communication, tact, diplomacy, relationship-building skills; ability to communicate effectively in large group settings. Outstanding team-building and facilitation skills; ability to build consensus and seek input. Extensive experience with individuals experiencing mental health needs, physical health problems, substance use issues, poverty, and homelessness. Knowledge and experience in the mental health field; ability to handle complex crisis situations. Proven ability to supervise and lead diverse staff with varied skills and competencies. Experience developing and evaluating program models and implementing existing or innovative programs. Knowledge of community resources and experience building community relationships. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; budgeting experience preferred. Flexible schedule including some evenings or weekends when necessary. Valid driver’s license (Class C), access to a vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance; TB clearance and annual re-testing required. COVID-19 vaccination or booster not currently required but may become so; non-compliance with agency policies may result in termination. Employment verification from three past employers within the most recent seven years. Compensation
