Responsibilities

Transformational Leadership: Contribute to Magnet re-designation; demonstrate critical thinking; communicate plan of care; escalate issues using chain of command; ensure proper handoff processes; maintain collegial relationships; participate in change and support management decisions; model empathetic, service-oriented behavior.

Structural Empowerment: Maintain regulatory requirements (e.g., license, BLS); attend mandatory education; participate in peer reviews; align with national safety standards and service excellence; support education and certification; collaborate and model professionalism; escalate as needed.

Exemplary Professional Practice: Use patient and family data to complete database and plan of care on time; demonstrate clinical skills for complex patients; prioritize and organize for changing needs; document per high standards; plan educational needs with patient and family; demonstrate organizational skills and timely completion of assignments; provide compassionate care that improves patient satisfaction.

Safety: Speak up about unsafe behavior; verify information for decisions; resolve uncertainties; communicate accurately and timely; promote safety for patients, families, visitors and staff; attend to details and self-check performance.

Qualifications

Minimum Education : BSN from an approved nursing program (Preferred).

Minimum Work Experience : 1 year RN experience (Required).

Required Skills/Knowledge : Keep knowledge current with changes in the specialty area; complete orientation; maintain ongoing competency.

Required Licenses and Certifications : Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia; RN licensure in DC, Maryland, or Virginia depending on practice location; CPR (required).
