Location: Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton, 1500 Orange Avenue, Coronado 92118. The iconic Hotel del Coronado is seeking a Temporary Director of Purchasing to join the team. This historic resort has undergone a $400M renovation and expansion and features over 750 rooms, 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. Position reports to the Controller and/or Director of Finance. Primary role is to manage all receiving and inventory control at the property. Job Number:

Plan, organize, direct and control all receiving and inventory functions; coordinate with vendors; manage off-site storage; lead the receiving team; ensure compliance with corporate and regional procedures; collaborate with the Executive Chef and Director of F&B; manage the hotel main loading dock.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct and control all receiving and inventory functions at the property. Coordinate delivery and receiving with all hotel vendors. Manage off-site warehouse storage and inventory. Primary responsibility for the receiving team of approximately 20 team members. Ensure compliance with corporate and regional operating procedures, including participation in HSM purchasing programs. Work with the Executive Chef and Director of F&B to ensure compliance with all purchasing, receiving and inventory control processes and procedures. Primary responsibility for managing and organizing the hotel main loading dock. Supportive Functions

In addition to the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following functions, with the percentage of time determined by the supervisor based on business needs: Coordinate with managers and department heads for proper storage of inventory and equipment. Coordinate, plan and conduct monthly and quarterly inventories of food, beverage and retail storage and stock rooms. Ensure a strong control environment for requisitioning and managing hotel inventory. Qualifications

The success in this role will be demonstrated through the following attributes and skills: Experience managing receiving, warehouse and/or loading dock functions. Knowledge of internal controls for receiving, inventory and requisitioning processes. Positive, can-do attitude. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to multitask and pay attention to detail. Service from a guest- and team-focused approach. Required Qualifications

Salary Range for this role is $100,000 to $110,000 dependent upon experience and background.
