AWS Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) is seeking an AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) for Amazon Connect, an AI-native contact center from AWS. An AWS SA Specialist are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems. WWPS serves tens of thousands of customers across government, education, nonprofit, and healthcare organizations. As an SA Specialist within WWPS you will work with U.S. Federal customers to develop bespoke solutions using the Amazon Connect service along with the use of Amazon\'s utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, HPC, and AWS CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers. These customers face unique challenges in accomplishing complex missions with limited resources while trying to serve citizens more effectively and accelerate innovation and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Helping U.S. Federal Civilian Government organizations implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.
  • Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects.
  • Defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.
  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc.
  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of the AWS services.
  • Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
  • Experience within the Federal Government.
  • Understanding of infrastructure and security requirements, such as FedRAMP Moderate/High, HIPAA, DoD SRG, CJIS, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development lifecycle.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
