We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Director to work from our Overland Park, KS office. This role will lead a team of direct reports to provide accounting analysis across a complex legal entity structure. Reporting to the Vice President of Accounting, this highly visible role will partner across Facility Operations, Engineering and Asset Management teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.
- Review monthly financial results, assess variances to forecast and provide reporting for various levels of internal management reporting needs
- Partner with department heads and operational leaders to provide financial guidance and support strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Asset Management and other departments to assist with financial budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Responsible for maintaining a high-performing team including mentoring and training staff members and identifying cross-training opportunities
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead and nurture a work culture with a positive attitude that promotes open, frequent and dynamic communication among staff, stimulating teamwork to accomplish desired goals and objectives
- Responsible for supporting management initiatives including process standardization and simplification, financial analysis and research, and reporting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business.
- A minimum of 10 years of accounting or financial reporting experience
- Five or more years of supervisory experience
- Ability to work onsite in our Overland Park, KS office location. **We are open to relocation for qualified candidates**
- CPA, MBA, or a graduate degree in a finance-related field.
- Experience with Workday Financials or other large ERP systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at the executive level.
- Demonstrated experience presenting to company executives.
- Strategic thinking capabilities and deep understanding of GAAP and financial processes.
- Professional agility to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with automated accounting systems and ERP tools.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner across departments with competing priorities.
