Dialysis RN Job Details
- Job Title: Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens
- Location: Wausau, Wisconsin 54401
- Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Contract)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 6, 2025
- End Date: January 3, 2026
- Hours Per Week: 36 hours guaranteed (biweekly 72 hours)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1780 - $1910
- Shift Duration: Flexible shifts (6, 8, 10, or 12 hours); shifts may start as early as 5:00 AM and end as late as 7:30 PM
- Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
- Float Requirements: Float between inpatient and outpatient dialysis units
- On Call: 2x weekly as needed, including every other weekend; 1-hour response time
- Block Scheduling: Available
Dialysis RN Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of dialysis RN experience in an inpatient healthcare setting
- Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Peritoneal Dialysis required
- Trauma Level II hospital experience highly preferred
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience preferred
Dialysis RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality dialysis care to both inpatient and outpatient patients
- Perform RN and Patient Care Technician (PCT) duties as needed
- Manage patient ratios: Inpatient 1:4 with dialysis technician, 1:1 in ICU; Outpatient 1:8
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
- Float between inpatient and outpatient dialysis units based on facility needs
- Respond to on-call assignments within a 1-hour timeframe
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EHR (preferred)
- Comply with all clinical, safety, and infection control protocols
