ER RN Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio (ZIP 43210)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
- Start Date: October 6, 2025
- End Date: January 5, 2026
- Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Schedule: Weekdays, some weekends, rotating holidays
- Floating: Required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Patient Age Groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Estimated Patient Ratios: 3.5:1
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680-$1720
ER Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of recent emergency room nursing experience (ER RN experience required)
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission)
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (required for emergency nursing jobs)
- Epic charting experience required
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred
- Ability to provide two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations in a hospital setting
- Perform triage, assessment, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Administer emergency medications, blood products, and IV therapies
- Manage arterial and central lines, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, and procedural sedation
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and respond to STEMI and stroke emergencies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including pharmacy, respiratory services, and interpretation services
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic electronic health records
- Participate in rotating holiday and weekend coverage as part of the ER nursing team
