- Unit: 8 West Rhodes Progressive Care
- Employment Type: Travel RN assignment (locum tenens)
- Shifts: Rotating Day (07:00 - 19:30) and Night (19:00 - 07:30) shifts
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 20, 2025
- End Date: January 19, 2026
- Schedule: Weekdays, some weekends, rotating holidays; self-scheduling
- On-call: Required
- Patient Ratio: 1:3
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940–$1990
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or Ohio state RN license)
- ACLS and BCLS certifications required
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Community hospital RN experience required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to PCU patients with cardiac and complex medical needs
- Manage chronic ventilated and post-lung transplant patients
- Perform IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and arterial/central line management
- Administer blood products and titrate cardiac, vasoactive, and insulin drips
- Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias
- Care for ventilated patients, manage tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and wound vacs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, etc.)
- Float to other nursing units as needed within the hospital
- Participate in rapid response and code teams
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic
