The
University Driver
is responsible for safely transporting students, faculty, staff, and visitors to various locations as needed, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and university policies. This position plays a vital role in maintaining efficient transportation services that support the university's operations and activities.
Key Responsibilities
Operate university vehicles, including vans, buses, and other transport vehicles, to provide safe and timely transportation services. Follow assigned routes and schedules while being flexible to accommodate changes in transportation needs. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, report any mechanical issues, and ensure vehicles remain clean and in good condition. Assist passengers with boarding, seating, and exiting vehicles as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and fuel usage reports while adhering to all university and state driving regulations. Provide courteous and professional service to all passengers, responding to inquiries and assisting with directions when necessary. Act quickly and effectively in the event of vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or medical emergencies, following university protocols. Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year of professional driving experience preferred. Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
