Position: Interim Controller

South Bend, IN About the Opportunity for an Interim Controller:
Family-owned, growth-oriented company seeking hands-on financial leadership during a pivotal stage of growth and restructuring. Leadership team values a scrappy, collaborative, and solution-focused mindset, with a strong emphasis on strategy and scaling for the future. Opportunity to make immediate impact by straightening out the books, implementing process improvements, and positioning the business for long-term profitability and acquisitions. Overview of the Interim Controller role:
Clean up and restructure the balance sheet and P&L, ensuring account numbers, categories, and reporting align for accuracy and decision-making. Review and improve cash management processes, helping leadership make informed financial decisions in a changing revenue environment. Partner with ownership and CPA firm to ensure tax strategies are handled appropriately and financial errors are prevented. Support scaling initiatives including budgeting, forecasting, and preparation for strategic acquisitions and new locations. Provide guidance and mentoring to the internal accounting/HR manager, ensuring QuickBooks Online and Gusto payroll are optimized and integrated effectively. Preferred Qualifications for the Interim Controller role:
Proven experience as a Controller or Fractional CFO with hands-on accounting clean-up and restructuring. Strong background in GAAP compliance, balance sheet and P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow oversight. Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and Gusto payroll system required. Ability to communicate clearly with leadership, propose thoughtful solutions, and provide strategic direction. Comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with a team of 11 employees and a 6-person leadership group. Salary:
$112K-$132K, commensurate with experience.
