• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana 46845
• Healthcare Setting: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) & Pediatrics
• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: February 23, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 20 weeks
• Shifts: 3 x 12-hour day shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130–$2190
• Unit Size: Pediatrics – 28 beds; PICU – 7 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 (Peds), 1:2 (PICU)
• Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs

PICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in both Pediatrics and PICU nursing
• Experience in a Level 2 Trauma Center and 400+ bed hospital required
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• IV skills preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through AHA
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification through AHA

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical care to pediatric patients (ages 3 days to 18 years) in the PICU and pediatric units
• Manage acute and chronic pediatric illnesses, including respiratory conditions, trauma, seizures, poisoning, and COVID-positive cases
• Utilize EPIC for electronic health record documentation and Pyxis for medication administration
• Float to NICU and other pediatric units as needed
• Assist with general surgical care, trauma, RSV, and birth defect management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Complete a comprehensive orientation program, including 24 hours of precepted floor training
