Emergency Department RN Job Details

• Location: Geneva, NY 14456 – Explore New York healthcare jobs in the beautiful Finger Lakes area, known for lakeside views, parks, and cultural attractions.
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract (26 weeks, including the holiday season)
• Healthcare Setting: Level 2 Emergency Department
• Shift: 12-hour shifts; minimum of two shifts per 4-week period (at least one weekend shift required)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,830 - $1,960 per week
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: March 7, 2026
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI required)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience as an RN
• At least 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience
• NIHSS certification preferred
  
  

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate acute care to patients and families in the Emergency Department
• Assess patient needs, identify urgent or emergent care priorities, and deliver direct clinical interventions
• Utilize invasive and non-invasive procedures and therapeutic interventions for routine and critical situations
• Apply relationship-based care principles to reduce anxiety, provide information, and address pain, discomfort, and safety
• Conduct triage, primary and secondary assessments, and document clinical findings accurately
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members for optimal patient outcomes
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments; provide education for post-emergency care
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention protocols and public safety standards
• Promote a healing environment and keep patients and families informed throughout their ED stay
