Travel Nurse Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel SICU Registered Nurse
• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (Upstate New York nursing jobs)
• Unit: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (16 beds)
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1870–$1920
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, as needed
• Charting System: EPIC (EPIC experience required)
• Local Candidates: Must reside more than 75 miles from facility

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse license (required at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent SICU or critical care RN experience
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Willingness to work every other weekend
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  
  

SICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to SICU patients, including those with sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, multi-organ failure, and post-cardiac arrest
• Manage advanced therapies and equipment: CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, Impella
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional 1:1 assignments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in pre-start modules and orientation
• Float to other units as needed to support patient care
