Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Jobs – Night Shift in Chicago, IL. This travel nursing job offers the chance to provide critical care in a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL (60612). Join our healthcare team and make a difference in the heart of Illinois!
ICU RN Job Details
- Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois nursing jobs)
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Healthcare Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center, Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Shift: 3x12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend required
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/14/2025 – End: 1/13/2026)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $1960 per week
- Floating: Required float between ICU specialties (Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU) and Med-Surg units
- Orientation: First week on day shift for orientation and precepting
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)
- Charting System: Cerner
- Parking: $2/day at JTDC with shuttle service every 15 minutes
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (must be in hand upon submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions for flu only)
- Ability to float between ICU specialties and Med-Surg units as needed
- Strong compliance and responsiveness to deadlines
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in multiple ICU settings
- Manage and monitor patients requiring advanced interventions, including ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and care for multisystem organ dysfunction
- Perform arterial and central line management, interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias, and provide continuous IV sedation
- Adhere to infection control protocols and isolation precautions
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EHR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to various ICU and Med-Surg units as required to support facility needs
