Job Details – New Mexico Travel Nursing Jobs

• Location: Estancia, NM 87016 (Torrance County)
• Healthcare Setting: Correctional Healthcare Facility
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1620-$1660
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 3, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (potential for extension)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour days
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Open Availability: Required per facility scheduling policy
• ICE Clearance: US Citizenship required; clearance process takes 3-4 weeks

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited college, university, or nursing program (RN degree/diploma)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Valid driver's license
• Minimum 1 year of professional nursing experience preferred
• Ability to obtain ICE clearance (US Citizenship required)

RN Responsibilities in Correctional Healthcare

• Deliver comprehensive acute nursing care, including executing provider orders, administering medications, and assisting in examinations and treatments
• Apply nursing and supervisory techniques in the care, treatment, and referral of inmates/residents
• Attend sick call with the physician, prepare examination lists and rooms, and operate pill call
• Assess new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries and refer as needed
• Perform emergency procedures and notify providers for treatment orders
• Supervise and monitor care provided by LVN/LPN and non-licensed medical staff
• Maintain security and confidentiality of medical records
• Audit pharmacy use and comply with all applicable pharmacy laws
• Observe and record inmate/resident behavior and inspect the medical unit for contraband
• Provide health counseling and education on an individual or group basis
• Assist with documentation, reporting, and accreditation processes as required
