Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) for an 8-week travel assignment in Wichita, Kansas. Assignment: Travel Long Term Care RN — 8 weeks

Base pay range

This range is provided by Fusion Medical Staffing. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health, monitor for changes, and take appropriate action to ensure well-being
• Develop, update, and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Observe residents for medication reactions or changes in condition and report concerns to the healthcare provider
• Provide treatments including wound care, IV therapy, catheter management, and other skilled procedures within scope of practice
• Supervise and support LPNs and CNAs, delegating appropriately to ensure quality care
• Educate residents and families on medications, treatments, and managing chronic conditions
• Document care provided and resident progress in a timely manner
• Respond quickly to emergencies and coordinate with medical teams
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care
• Adhere to facility safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as an RN in a long-term care setting
• Current RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS Certification
• Other certifications may be required depending on facility requirements

Required Essential Skills

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
• Proficient English reading and writing; good verbal communication
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; proficient PC skills
• Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting and moving equipment
• Ability to work with a variety of personnel and maintain professionalism
• Technical/motor skills for procedures and equipment
• Mental resilience to handle deadlines and variable schedules
• Sensory acuity for visual tasks and effective communication
